About
History that still moves
These automobiles aren't simply old. They are history that still moves — driven, maintained and shared by members across New York and Long Island.

About GNYR
A regional club for antique and collector automobiles
The Greater New York Region is a local region of the Antique Automobile Club of America, serving enthusiasts in the New York metropolitan area and on Long Island. Members enjoy, preserve and continue to drive automobiles from many periods — this is a club for the whole history of the automobile, not one decade of it.
Our History
EST. 1960
The Greater New York Region traces its beginnings to a group of local automobile enthusiasts who wanted an AACA region closer to home. After an earlier effort in 1958, their persistence paid off when the Greater New York Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America was chartered in 1960.
Since then, GNYR has brought together generations of enthusiasts who share a passion for preserving, showing and enjoying historic automobiles. The Region serves the metropolitan New York and western Long Island area, while its membership has grown to include enthusiasts from well beyond the region.
Today, GNYR continues that tradition through club activities, fellowship and annual automobile shows, including its signature Spring Meet at Old Westbury Gardens.
What We Do
Shows, tours, meetings and shared knowledge
Through the year the club holds shows, tours, meetings and social events, and members help one another with research, parts and restoration questions. Full descriptions of each activity will be added as content is carried across from the existing site.
Club Leadership
GNYR is led by a dedicated group of volunteers who help guide the club and support its members, activities, and automotive community.

Long Island Automotive History
A region at the start of American motoring
Long Island's early roads, races and motoring landmarks are part of why this region exists. Articles on that history will live here and in the news section.
About AACA
Part of a national organisation
GNYR is a region of the Antique Automobile Club of America. National membership gives access to AACA's publications, national meets and judging programmes alongside everything the region offers locally.
This page is a structural placeholder for the first design phase. Club history, officers and organisational details will be taken from the club's own records and the existing site rather than written from scratch.
